Pendennis Shipyard | Joint Managing Director
Henk is a time served engineer who managed his own yacht building companies in Holland and New Zealand for 12 years before being asked to join Pendennis in 1988. Henk and his fellow MD, Mike Carr, have been the driving force behind Pendennis since the management buyout in 1993. In that time, Pendennis has seen exponential growth, evolving into one of the leading new build and refit yards in the Superyacht industry, with facilities and expertise that rival any global superyacht company.
In addition, Pendennis’ award-winning apprenticeship programme has enabled the company to develop and retain the high level of skillset required for such specialist work, whilst significantly contributing to the wider community surrounding Pendennis’ facilities in Falmouth and Devonport.
During his 30 years at the helm, Henk has seen first hand the ups and downs of the industry and, along with his team, has had the foresight and experience to guide Pendennis through both bad times and good in order to build the successful company we see today.
We very much look forward to hearing Henk’s learning from this long-held experience, and eagerly await his insights into the future of the Superyacht industry as he prepares for the next generation of leadership to take over the helm.
